Laser Blepharoplasty Vs Laser Facelift: What’s the difference?

By Experts Admin · Comments (0) · Friday, March 1st, 2019

Are your eyes looking droopy and tired and your face showing signs of age? Laser blepharoplasty and laser facelift are two excellent facial rejuvenation options, but how are they different. Understanding the difference between the two procedures can help you decide which would be the right option for you.

What is Laser Blepharoplasty?

A laser blepharoplasty or laser eyelid lift is a surgical procedure that uses laser energy to improve the appearance of the eyelids. Although laser eyelid surgery is mostly done for cosmetic reasons, it may sometimes be required to correct vision impairment. This occurs when the extra fold of skin that overhangs the eyelids affects the field of vision.

Laser eyelid surgery is typically performed with a CO2 laser. The CO2 laser is considered ideal for blepharoplasty, because it can be used as a cutting tool, and minimizes bleeding by sealing the blood vessels.

Laser blepharoplasty may be performed on the upper eyelids, the lower eyelids, or on both. When performed on the upper eyelids, it removes excess skin to reduce the appearance of sagging upper eyelids, and repositions bulging fat pads.

Lower laser blepharoplasty focuses on reducing the puffiness and bags below the eyes. The laser is used to make the incisions, allowing the surgeon to remove excess skin and reposition fat deposits.

Laser blepharoplasty can take 1½-2 hours, but this may vary depending on the extent of the procedure.

What to expect after laser blepharoplasty

There is minimal swelling and bruising with laser eyelid surgery, as the laser energy seals the blood vessels. There is also less post-operative swelling and discomfort, and downtime typically ranges from 2-4 days.

Laser Facelift

A laser facelift is a surgical procedure that uses laser energy to rejuvenate the skin. It is the ideal procedure for men and women that are not yet ready for a cosmetic surgical facelift. The laser facelift is a low risk skin rejuvenation method that can deliver excellent results. It treats skin concerns such as sun damage, wrinkles, scars, and skin laxity. The result of a laser facelift can last anywhere from 1-5 years.

The Precision Tx laser is one of the latest innovations in laser facelift technology.

Precision TX Facelift

The Precision Tx facelift is a minimally invasive procedure that revitalizes the appearance of the lower face and neck. The 1440nm laser restores a smoother, toned look to the face and neck.

How the Precision Tx works

The treatment area is accessed through 2 or 3 very small incisions made in the skin. The laser is enclosed in a cannula that is inserted below the skin, and delivers heat to the deep tissue layers, resulting in the contraction of the collagen fibers. This creates a tightening effect in the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin.

Precision Tx also stimulates the production of new collagen, which makes the skin firmer and more elastic, and enhances skin strength and stability. The Precision Tx laser facelift is a relatively comfortable treatment, as local anesthetic is applied to the treatment area at the start of the procedure.

The rejuvenating results of the Precision Tx laser facelift can be seen immediately, but improvements will continue over the months that follow, as new collagen grows.

Laser Blepharoplasty Vs Laser Facelift: What’s the difference?

Laser blepharoplasty and laser facelift can both rejuvenate the appearance, but they focus on different aspects of the face. Laser blepharoplasty is a procedure that is performed on the eyelids to give them a refreshed appearance. It is not the same as a laser facelift which rejuvenates the tone and texture of the skin, and reduces signs of age.

A laser eyelid lift addresses sagging upper eyelid skin, as well as puffiness and bags in the lower eyelids that can make you look old and tired. A laser facelift focuses on the lower face and neck, and because it is a non-invasive procedure, it requires less downtime than a traditional facelift.

Laser blepharoplasty vs facelift surgery, which is the right one for you?
