Would you like a curvier, shapelierbutt? A Brazilian butt lift can help you achieve your goal. The Brazilian butt lift is a hugely popular cosmetic procedure that can make the buttocks bigger and fuller. But how does the procedure work, and how long is recovery from a Brazilian butt lift.
How a Brazilian butt lift works
The Brazilian butt lift is a butt augmentation procedure in which the patient’s own fat is used to add volume and change the shape of the buttocks. The fat is generally taken from the abdomen, hips, or thighs and is extracted with gentle liposuction using special cannulas. The fat obtained with liposuction is processed and then placed in the buttock region.
How long is recovery from a Brazilian Butt Lift?
Recovery after a Brazilian butt lift can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks. For best results, patients should be sure to follow the post-operative instructions of their surgeon.
There is generally some bruising and swelling after surgery both in the buttocks as well as at the liposuction sites. It typically takes about 2 months for the swelling to subside fully. Patients are expected to wear a compression garment for at least 6 weeks to help reduce swelling and improve healing. Some patients may require surgical drains, and these are normally removed about 1 week after surgery (click here to learn more).
In addition, patients are advised to avoid sitting for long periods or sleeping on their back for the first 6 weeks, as this canadversely affect the survival of the fat cells.
