Will I be able to see after an eyelid lift?

By Experts Admin · Comments (0) · Friday, February 7th, 2020

Are you unhappy with your tired-looking, saggy eyes? You can rejuvenate their appearance with an eyelid lift. An eyelid lift is a wonderful way to restore the youthful vigor to the face, because it makes the eyes look brighter and younger. However, patients often ask their surgeon if they will be able to see after an eyelid lift.

What exactly is an eyelid lift?

An eyelid lift otherwise known as blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure that rejuvenates the appearance of the eyes. Surgery may be performed on the upper or lower eyelids, or on both at the same time. An upper eyelid lift addresses sagging eyelids, whereas the lower eyelid lift gets rid of undereye bags.

Will I be able to see after an eyelid lift?

The eyelids will be swollen and puffy in the days immediately after eyelid surgery, and any vision problems experienced is usually due to this temporary swelling. However, eyelid surgery will not affect your ability to see. Most of the swelling and bruising resolves within 7-10 days.

The eyelids may also feel tight and sore after surgery, and some patients experience sensitivity to light, but this is temporary, and usually clears within 2-3 days.

When will I see results after an eyelid lift?

Social downtime after an eyelid lift is about 7-10 days. The most significant results can be seen within the first 4 weeks of surgery. Final results should be obvious about 1-2 months after surgery.
