Male Chin Implant

More men are choosing to undergo cosmetic treatments to improve their looks, and chin implant surgery is one of the most popular procedures. The desire to look more aggressive in the workplace, in order to boost their career, is one of the driving forces behind this high demand. Male chin implants balance out the face, giving it a more chiseled, masculine look, but are there any possible complications that can occur. Let’s take a look.

Male Chin Implant Surgery
Male Chin augmentation is an outpatient procedure that takes about an hour or less to complete.Chin implants are available in different shapes and sizes, so your plastic surgeon will conduct a detailed facial evaluation, and then select the right chin implant for you. The implants are generally input through an incision made under the chin.

Possible Complications
The possible complications related to male chin implants are very similar to those for other surgical procedures.  There is the possibility of infection, but this is quite rare, especially in cases where the implant is inserted via an incision below the chin. Swelling can also occur, but this usually resolves within 5 -7 days.

Nerve damage is also possible since there are nerves close to the area where the implant is placed. In addition, there is sometimes numbness of the lip and chin, because of the manipulation that occurs as the implant is being set, but this is usually temporary. Other possible complications include asymmetry, lip weakness, and bleeding (learn more).

However, it is important to note that the possible complications related to chin implant surgery are significantly reduced, when the procedure is done by an experienced board certified plastic surgeon.
