How Much Does a Rhinoplasty Cost?

By Experts Admin · Comments (0) · Wednesday, October 28th, 2020

If you are thinking about doing rhinoplasty for aesthetic reasons, the cost of surgery can be significant because rhinoplasty is rarely covered by medical insurance.   It’s therefore vital to know how much rhinoplasty costs and understand the factors that impact the total cost, before deciding to undergo surgery.

What Is Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty, also called nose reshaping or a nose job is a surgical procedure that corrects issues related to the shape and size of the nose, to create a more balanced appearance.  Rhinoplasty is also done for functional reasons to fix breathing issues or nasal injuries.  It is an outpatient procedure typically performed under general anesthesia.

How Much Does A Rhinoplasty Cost?

According to the latest statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the average cost of a rhinoplasty is $5,409.   However, variables such as the expertise and qualifications of the surgeon, anesthesia fees, surgical facility fees, complexity of the procedure, and cost of post-operative medication can cause your final cost to vary significantly from the average.

The cost of rhinoplasty also differs based on the geographic location of the practice.  Plastic surgery generally costs more in large metropolitan areas with higher overheads than it does in small cities or rural towns.  Rhinoplasty is customized to satisfy the individual needs of each patient, and this will also affect the final price tag.

Financing Rhinoplasty

When rhinoplasty is done for aesthetic reasons, it’s typically not covered by medical insurance.  However, patients can explore payment options available through financing programs such as CareCredit.  CareCredit is a healthcare credit card that provides financing for plastic surgery and healthcare procedures.

If you are considering rhinoplasty, consult with an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon and obtain a detailed cost estimate, so that you can make an informed decision about surgery.
