Do you have sagging arm skin you’d like to get rid of? If yes, you’re not alone, because the upper arm is a problem area for many people, and unfortunately, spot reduction doesn’t work. So how can you reduce sagging skin around your arms?
Reduce sagging arm skin with an arm lift
Loose, sagging skin in the underarm area is often due to changes in the skin as a result of aging, or rapid weight loss. Whatever the cause, individuals with flabby arms often feel self-conscious about them, but an arm lift can get rid of sagging skin and firm up those arms.
An arm lift or Brachioplasty is a procedure that improves the shape and contours of the upper arms, by removing excess skin and fat.
Arm lift surgery
Arm lift surgery is typically performed as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia. The incisions for surgery are usually made on the underside of the arms. During the operation, the surgeon will remove the excess skin and fat in the area between the armpit and elbow. Arm lift surgery takes 2-3 hours.
Recovery and Results
There is typically some swelling, soreness, and bruising after arm lift surgery, and this can take several weeks to resolve. Patients are usually required to wear compression garments to assist with healing and help minimize swelling. Some improvement in the shape and contours of the arms will be apparent after surgery, but it may take several months for the final results to show.
