If eye bags are an issue for you, lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is a great way to rejuvenate the eye area and get rid of those pesky fatty deposits. There are several approaches that can be used to perform lower eyelid surgery, and you can get completely natural looking results without external excisions. But how do you know if you are a candidate for lower eyelid surgery without an incision.
Lower Eyelid Surgery
The incision for lower eyelid surgery has traditionally been placed outside the eyelid, just below the lash line. However, when lower eyelid surgery is performed using the transconjunctival technique, an external incision is not made. For this method, the incision is made along the inside of the lower eyelid, allowing for easier access to the orbital fat. Some of the fat may be removed, and the rest is repositioned over the orbit rim.
Are you a good candidate? If you have fatty bulges under your eyes that make you look tired all the time, you may be a good candidate for lower blepharoplasty without incisions. Candidates should also have good skin tone in the lower eyelids. The procedure is best for patients who are healthy, and are not suffering from any serious eye conditions.
If you have a problem with under-eye puffiness, lower eyelid surgery can restore the youthful contours from the lower eyelids to the cheeks, and make your face look more vibrant.
